Thanksgiving 2005
Another Thanksgiving in our lives has come, and we take the time, regardless of our religion or beliefs, to celebrate that for which we are thankful. Even if you don't celebrate thanksgiving, I urge you to reflect upon the year and acknowledge events, people, or otherwise, which has caused you to be grateful for something.
I would like to take this opportunity to enumerate several--but not all--of the things for which I am grateful for.- For Avari. I'm grateful for the love and compassion she has shown me, and for helping me find myself in a time of need and great helplessness. I'm grateful for being able to have her as a part of my life, and for her allowing me to be a part of hers. She has been steadfast and selfless, and has given me the courage to stay strong and reach for the stars. This is by far the best thing that has happened to me this year.
- For Alissa. I'm thankful for the sacrifices she has made for me, not only as an attorney, but also as a friend. She has shown complete selflessness, loaning me money, giving me a place to stay, and managing to take care of me when I was incapable of doing so myself.
- For Nikki. For talking to me about life and letting me vent at her about every tiny little thing that went wrong with me during the day, and having the strength to not get mad.
- For Chris. In spite of all the strife and difficulties, he has still come through for me on many occasions, and that deserves thanks.
- For my professors. They have given me a great amount of leeway in my research and allowed me many days of less-than-perfect performance. My professors have always been good mentors and guided me in my educational endeavors.
- For my students. Though there are only 6 of you, you guys have--for the most part--managed to stay on track even in my absence, and have helped each other when I couldn't be there to help you myself. You guys can also read my handwriting on the dry-erase board when I'm too tired to draw my Greek symbols properly.
- For my manager. For not firing me when I do nothing at work, and for driving me home when my driving would have resulted in adding danger to the roadways.
- For the majority of my coworkers. For always feeding me at work and covering my ass when I didn't do something.
- For my apartment manager. For not evicting me despite my overdue balances and late payments.
- For my friends. For being supportive of me, joining me on Wal-Mart raids, and for paying my tab at iHop and Chichos.
- For you guys at GWG. Not all of you guys have known me, but those that have known about what happened with Eileen. And the majority of you showed a great deal of support for me and tolerated my constant moodiness.
Even for someone like me, who only 4 months ago would contend that I have nothing to be grateful for, there is obviously much thanks to be given.
So I'd like for those willing to post what you are thankful for, or share your favorite thanksgiving stories!
With love,
~Lain

I guess I sorta forgot what Thanksgiving was truely about. Ive just been so excited to gorge muh face with food lately!
My family of course is something I am very thankful for. They support and believe in me even when I find myself struggling. I cant do it without them. They have always encouraged me to put forth my best effort and have always been my biggest support.
My friends for always being the jack asses they are. Its amazing to be hanging out with the friends I have had since 3rd grade.
*House music starts to play*
Ok lets wrap this up, I give thanks to GOD, Spectrum gyms, my professors, my co-workers, the many BRAVE men and women who die for our freedom to say the things we can, and of course this wonderful nation we live in. Lets face it its a great place to live!
I almost forgot, the many rap artist out there that encourage us to go onto the dance floor and grind up on the many ladies out there May you always find the rhymes to give us the time to grind my friends!

I'm thankful that my grandfather is now in a better place, and not suffering the infirmities that plagued him in this life.
I'm thankful for my wife, who has stuck by me in what turned out to be a much more difficult year than either of us anticipated.
I'm thankful for my job, and that I have the opportunity to contribute something good in this world, and that I hopefully can leave it a little better than I found it.
And I'm thankful that zehly is still with us. I'm glad you found your way through a difficult time in your life and can still find enjoyment in it day after day.
God bless all of us throughout this holiday season.

I'm thankful for my family, for taking such good care of me even though I'm a lazy bum.
Thankful for my church family who have helped me develop certain degrees of confidence in myself and my Christian walk.
I'm thankful for my friends at school who have welcomely accepted an underclassman hanging out with them.
The cool people here who have been here to help me spam, and for giving me a diversion for when I'm too tired or bored to do much of anything else.
This list could go on for a long while

I'm thankful for...
-My Family! Without them, I wouldn't be in these forums right now. They have supported me in school, and life. I wouldn't have a home either. Hell, I wouldn't even exist!
-Nina Hambrick... All of you guys don't know this 'special' girl. She is very important to me and is another reason I'm here. I miss her so much . *flashbacks to times in Japan*
-Food! Obvious Reasons.
-Pokemon, for teaching me moral values and ways to settle conflicts. Pokemon has molded me to who I am today.
-Books... I like these guys. They help me reach new worlds at new heights and give me hope and dreams. Imagination is the key to success.
-My Home... because its freakin cold outside!
-Playstation 2, Nintendo 64, Gameboy and my NES
-my friends... These guys help me whenever I need help.. DUH! These people include, Kevin, Ken, Matt M., Matt W., Thomas, Nick, Ross, Vanessa, Austin, Matt N., Justin W., Jon(still owes me a FREE xbox 360), Elise, Francine C.(Gangstas for life!) Ericka S, Jake, Greg, Jimmy, Scott, Adam, Chris F.(Another one), Ricky(not from pokemon) Joe, Trisha, Savanna, and Kinny! *Crowd Roars* That's a lot of Matts. Who knows, some of them might be in here now.
-United States... For giving me freedom to do stuff!
-My computer
-Schools in general... They help the world go around a lot faster. Covers for the people that slow it down.
-Guild wars/A-net
That's all I'm thankful for!! THANK YOU!!
Oh I almost forgot....
-GWG OFF TOPIC FORUM POSTERS(AND THE REST OF THE FORUMS)... Thanks for taking up 3 months of my life and possibly forever more. You guys are the core of my jokes that I tell at school. You guys are my inspiration for stories and the like. You guys rock the forums. You guys make me laugh, make me cry, and make me sleepy. Some special notables are
-Swampgirl Inez... First person to acknowledge my existence on the forums as a thread ninja!...
-EchoSex... For making my mom pissed when she sees the name. *falls out of chair laugh*
-Zehly... For teaching me that there are real people that are posting and not just sexually confused 5 year old robots.
-Sonoma... For spamming alongside me!
-Heist27...For fighting alongside me!
-Avari Zi... Oh dear, what can I say? Um, for reinforcing the fact that there are people that stay up all night spamming until they drool on the keyboard...
Kg lildude... For those crappy riddles! HAHAHAHHAA
Manderlock...For giving me a reason to stay in these forums believe it or not.
Link Ironhammer... Cool links for cool people. Thanks for the stuff ironhammer.
All the mods(Lasareth and Savio)... For not banning me yet. Lots of patience.
Thank you EVERYONE!!! That includes whoever is reading this.
Once again thanks...
I will possibly add more stuff if I do find more things to be thankful for...

Every now and then I will stop and think how thankful I am when things are going south fast. It cushions the blow!
I am Thankful for the BOY(son) coming home from College.
I am Thankful for the BOY when he argues with me....Means he has a brain and he cares for me...otherwise he would be mute.
I am Thankful that the BOY is gay, this means he can go shopping with Mrs Dood...and I don't have too. It also means he has a tougher road ahead and this will keep him focused and sharp. Also we can share Breeder & Homo Jokes with love and compassion.
I am Thankful for the GIRL(daughter) when she is being a Mean-Ager toward me.....means she is Alive and reaching out.
I am Thankful for the GIRL because she likes most things I like(She will not admit it though..mean-ager thing) and when we all HAVE to go shopping with Mrs Dood the GIRL and I can slip off and go to BestBuy.
I am Thankful for my In-Laws even though they are very Clan-ish. They are very loyal. I am 90% accepted after 23 years of being around. Staying married and having children moved me up in the higher percentile bracket.
I am Thankful for the Special-Few people I have met in my journeys. It never ceases to amaze me that I was blessed that they came within my orbit and me in theirs. It makes living worth while.
I am Thankful for Ranger(Corgi Dog) His little ways amuses us daily.
I am Thankful for Mrs Dood. She is my Best Friend/Lover/Companion. Without her I would have been lost along time ago.

i'm thankful for zehly, who indirectly made me realize that life IS worth something.
and for avari-lain.com, which i visit every now and then for some laughs.
i'm thankful for laughter, for without it i would be dead by now.
i'm thankful for GW, which has led me to this great forum.
i'm thankful for my classmates at my grammar school, who've made me wiser, all in their own ways.
i'm thankful for being born here in this home of mine instead of a poverty-ridden country somewhere in the world.
lastly, i'm thankful for Jesus, and the sacrifice he made for me, and the rest of mankind.
Happy Thanksgiving.
(i'd type something sentimental here or some food for thought, but...i'm blank)

I saw this thread yesterday when it was made, and I couldn't really think of anything.
But then this morning I had lots of time to do some thinking and I came up with one thing really.
I'm thankful for playing the sax, because without that I'd have never met the hundred and something people that I've met through band and that will continue to be a huge part of my life even after I'm done with it. I'm certain that without band I'd be nothing.
